Last week we had the opportunity to celebrate with and thank some of the wonderful employees who worked at this year’s 2021 Australian Open.

From diverse backgrounds – Melbourne, France, Chile and Colombia – and with a wealth of work and educational experiences, each of them brought huge enthusiasm, drive and passion to their work with Tennis Australia, and spoke to us about what the opportunity to work at this iconic Melbourne event meant for them.

“I had been looking for work for so long I had lost my identity. I worked for 25 years before moving here and have now had two years of looking after my children and not being able to find work. This allowed me to find myself again. I am so grateful.”

“I just loved it. I loved the atmosphere, experiencing all the crowds cheering, seeing people smiling. I got to make some new friends with co-workers. It was so good for my confidence – in particular it helped me improve my social skills with people.” Thank you to Tennis Australia for leading the way in inclusive employment, and thank you, Rebecca, Kelsey, Daniel, Lauren and Rodrigo!
